COVID-19 POLICY

COVID-19 POLICY FOR CLASSES AT HOBBY COOKS

Each class will be for between 6-8 students, this being the safe number of people that can be taught comfortably within the kitchen, at any one time. Students will sit side-by-side at the kitchen island and this is within a proximity of less than 2m, as such additional mitigation measures will be in place. These include improved ventilation, provision of hand sanitiser, wearing masks when not eating and excellent hygiene standards before, during and after classes.

Lower student to teacher ratio class are available and a list of those interested will be kept with classes arranged upon demand. There will be a higher price for these classes, in order that they are viable to run.

Private one-to-one lessons and classes are always available, if you would prefer a class dedicated to yourself, a couple or a group from one household.

Yes, all facilities will be cleaned before and after each class.

Yes, provided upon arrival and available throughout each class.

No, this is not required. WHO guidance is that the use of hand sanitizer and washing of hands is more effective in the prevention of spreading the virus than wearing gloves.

No, food is served in individual portions.

Yes, out of respect for all attendees, you are requested to wear a face mask. Please bring your own, a limited quantity will be available on the day.

Yes, the class is small with this in mind and to ensure everyone is comfortable. Please socially distance upon arrival and when using the facilities at HOBBY COOKS Kitchen.

No, but this is on a trust basis, if you’re not feeling 100%, stay home. Please err on the side of caution and do not attend, particularly if you have any symptoms of the virus. If it is evident that you are unwell, you will be turned away on the day.  Everyone’s enjoyment of the class is the priority, but not at the expense of health and safety.

Yes, there is a clean toilet, with hand-washing basin and sanitizer gel available for all students.

Yes, if an attendee notifies HOBBY COOKS that they have coronavirus and you were in that same class, you will be contacted via email. Attendee records are kept for this purpose.

COVID-19 TERMS & CONDITIONS

HOBBY COOKS will follow all government instructions and guidance with respect to the Covid-19 virus.

HOBBY COOKS cannot be held responsible for acts of individuals or participants, which may conflict with the current guidelines. 

HOBBY COOKS will not be held liable for any potential spread of the virus on the premises while conducting the classes or otherwise.

HOBBY COOKS will not be held liable of any last-minute cancellations of classes due to COVID-19. If a class is not going ahead customers will be offered alternative dates or vouchers to the equivalent value, so that it can be re-booked.

In the case that you have to cancel or cannot attend due to a high temperature on arrival, HOBBY COOKS will offer as much flexibility as possible while covering our incurred costs.  

In the case that a class is cancelled due to not reaching the minimum number of 4 people, HOBBY COOKS will give you as much notice as possible to notify you of your cancelled class or alternative arrangements. 

It might be necessary to re-arrange your booking, if the specific numbers of attendees in each booking do not allow safe running of the class.

BOOKING T&C’S

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR COOKERY TUITION OR EVENTS OPERATED BY ANITA AT HOBBY COOKS

1.1 These are the terms and conditions on which HOBBY COOKS provides private tuition or cooking events to you.  Please read these terms carefully before you book a class, course or event.

2.1 The information shown to you as part of the booking process and these terms and conditions comprise the legally binding contract between you and HOBBY COOKS (“the Contract”).

2.2 The Contract will come into existence on the date of the booking (“the Booking Date”).

3.1 All fees must be paid in full at the time of booking.

3.2 Payment is accepted via Square or PayPal online, or by credit card, debit card by telephone.  If you wish to pay fees by bank transfer, you should contact ANITA AT HOBBY COOKS by email before making a booking.

4.1 Gift vouchers are valid for one year and are non-refundable.  Bookings must be made for classes, within that period.

4.2 Vouchers can be use in part or for the full value when booking a class at HOBBY COOKS, or for an online class.

5.1 HOBBY COOKS will try to adapt classes or events to suit individual’s allergies and specific needs.  However, this will not be possible for every class or event, due to the constraints or content of the class. To determine whether a class can be adapted for allergies and/or specific needs and to what degree, you should contact ANITA by email before making a booking.  

5.2 You must give details of your allergies and specific needs as part of the booking process, or by email, in advance of attending the class or event.

5.3 All requests for adaptations to courses to accommodate specific needs must be made to Yuki by email not less than one week before the class or event date.

6.1 Bookings are non-refundable.

6.2 Bookings can be re-scheduled, a minimum of 14 days’ notice is required.

6.3 Bookings can be transferred to another person, but this must be notified to in advance of the class start and the replacement person’s names given. 

6.4 In certain instances, where no replacement attendee can be found, you can opt for a waiting list space for the next available class. By arrangement and with a minimum of 10 days’ notice required. 

6.5 For privately booked classes or events (non-scheduled), bookings are non-refundable but can be re-scheduled with a minimum of 1 months’ notice, subject to availability.

7.1 HOBBY COOKS may end he Contract at any time by letter or email if:

(a) you do not make any payment when it is due;

(b) you cease to attend the class; 

(c) at any time (including on booking) you provide us with information, which is inaccurate, incomplete or misleading or fail to provide us with information on request which may affect your ability to complete the course;

(d) during the class you develop a medical condition or take medication which is a barrier to learning and in order to make the necessary adjustments to safely accommodate you on the course, HOBBY COOKS  would have to incur additional time and expenses that would be unreasonable in the circumstances.  

7.2 If the Contract is ended as set out above, HOBBY COOKS will not be required to refund the fees paid by you.

7.3 HOBBY COOKS will be entitled to cancel any class or event at any time subject to repayment of all fees in respect of the class or event which has been cancelled.

8.1 If there is a failure to comply with the terms of the Contract, HOBBY COOKS is not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable.  Loss or damage is foreseeable if either it is obvious that it will happen or if, at the time the Contract was made, both we and you knew it might happen, for example, if you discussed it with us during the booking process.

8.2 HOBBY COOKS will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing any obligations under the Contract where that failure or delay results from any event that is beyond our reasonable control, such as power failure, third party industrial action, fire, flood and acts of terrorism. 

8.3 Nothing in these terms and conditions seeks to exclude or limit your legal rights as a consumer. 

8.4 Public liability insurance is in place

8.5 By attending a cooking class or event you realise that you will be cooking, working with knives and kitchen stoves. You will be briefed on health and safety; however, HOBBY COOKS can accept no responsibility for injuries or illness occurring during a class or event.

9.1 We will process the personal information that you provide to us in accordance with all applicable requirements of (i) unless and until it is no longer directly applicable in the UK, the General Data Protection Regulation ((EU) 2016/679) (“GDPR”) and any national implementing laws, regulations and secondary legislation, as amended or updated from time to time, in the UK and then (ii) any successor legislation to the GDPR or the Data Protection Act 2018 and our Privacy Policy (which is available on our website). 

9.2 We will use the personal information you provide to us:

(a) to provide the class to you;

(b) to process your payment for the class;

(c) if you agreed to this in the booking process, to give you information about similar classes that we provide (but you may stop receiving this at any time by contacting us);

(d) in the event that it is necessary in order to avoid risk of harm to you or another person at the School.

9.3 We will only give your personal information to third parties in accordance with our Privacy Policy or where the law either requires or allows us to do so. 

9.4 Photographs will occasionally be taken of students during their cooking sessions and extra-curricular events at the School.  These photos may be used for our marketing materials or on our social media channels in accordance with our Privacy Policy.  Your permission to use any such photograph will be requested at the time that the photo is taken.  Please email info@hobbycooks.co.uk. if you wish to discuss this further.  We will always respect your decision not to be featured if this is your preference.

9.5 By using the #hobbycooks or #cookingwithanita or #hobbycookshashtag, you agree to your photos being eligible for reposting on the @hobbycooksac Instagram page.

10.1 All course documentation, materials, recipes, logos and branding are the property of HOBBYCOOKS and may not be copied or distributed by you without prior written consent.

10.2 Each of the provisions of these terms operates separately.  If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, those provisions shall be deemed severed from the remaining provisions and such remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

10.3 The termination of the Contract will not extinguish any claim that has already arisen.

10.4 You may not transfer any of your rights under the Contract to any other person without our written permission. 

10.5 These terms are governed by English law and you or we can bring legal proceedings in respect of the course in the English courts. 

10.6 The advertised menu and photography used for advertising a class is an illustrative guideline only.  The exact menu is liable to change according to ingredient availability and seasonality at any given time.

You may be photographed and/or filmed during your class and HOBBY COOKS Limited may use your name and any photographs and/or recordings featuring you, and may cut, edit and adapt the same as necessary, for use in website, for promotional uses, by means of any and all media, worldwide and in perpetuity.
Images of you might be taken during classes and might be used for advertising and/or promotional purposes. By coming to the experiences and events, you grant HOBBY COOKS a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable license to use such image/s for publicity and promotional purposes.
At the time of registration, you may include in the option to receive future offers and updates from HOBBY COOKS by email and/or SMS. Your personal information will be kept in a secure database.
You may also include in photos and videos of you in our cooking classes and events for the business marketing purposes. You may opt-out at any time by letting us know by email or telephone.

Alcohol will only be served to those who are 18 and over. Proof of age will be required for all that attend our adult classes.

You will follow all of our hygiene and safety procedures. We recommend that you wear practical clothing, including shoes that cover your toes, a minimal amount of jewellery and hair tied back where necessary.
You will let us know and you should not attend if you have been ill or become ill in the 48 hours before the session with any diseases e.g. colds and flu; diarrhoea, vomiting; and other infections. This is to protect all our guests as these illnesses can be spread through food.
In the event that you are unwell we ask that you send someone in your place, or we will give you credit to join later. You must send us a doctor certificate copy if you are sick to get the credit.
The participants who are not unwell will still be expected to attend.
You may be refused admission if we suspect that you are under the influence of alcohol or any other substance, are ill with a communicable disease or that you are engaging in inappropriate behaviour. You will consume any alcohol offered responsibly.

Except when we specify our kid and school experiences, classes and events, only people over 16 years old. They must also attend and be supervised by an adult at all times. The adult must supervise the children throughout and assist the child during the cookery class if required.

All menus are based on seasonal availability of produce & ingredients locally sourced. Menu’s can be personalised for Clients.

As our cooking class experiences are unique , They range between 2-3 hours and up to 6 hours for our Master classes.

Cost of the classes range from £125 per head for Master Classes.

Specialty course range from £75 onwards.

Master classes have six different combinations designed for exploring Specialities of Indian cuisine. 6 hrs.

Supper Clubs are hosted every quarter featuring a seven course tasting menu.

A glass of wine is included in the Cooking Course but any extras will be at clients cost and interest.
